Developing a Joint Forward Plan for BOB

Help shape the NHS Joint Forward Plan

We want everyone to be involved in the health and care plans for Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West.

Jointly the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and partner NHS organisations are busy developing a plan which sets out how we will deliver health and care services which best meet your needs.

What is a Joint Forward Plan?

The Joint Forward Plan outlines how the ICB, working with our partners across health and care, will deliver health and care services to people living in BOB over the next five years. The plan is developed by us, the ICB, and our NHS provider Trusts across BOB, working closely with local authorities, and voluntary and community organisations.

It will be updated annually at the beginning of each financial year and will be reviewed regularly to monitor the progress we are making as an Integrated Care System (ICS).

The Joint Forward Plan outlines how we will balance delivery of the ambitions we set out in the BOB Integrated Care Strategy and our operational plans for 2023 and 2024.

We’ve been working closely with stakeholders over the past few months to understand how to deliver health and care services which best meet our population’s needs, and we now need your say on the work we’ve done so far.

You can find out more about the Joint Forward Plan from our health and care partners in the video below.

How have we engaged so far?

So far, we have been working closely with our local health and care partners to write the draft Joint Forward Plan.

We recently held a Joint Forward Plan Engagement Event in Marlow, where we were joined by health and care partners, including local councils, partner Trusts, NHS England, Healthwatch, academic networks, ambulance services and voluntary organisations.

What feedback do we need?

The draft plan is divided into a number of different themes - Promoting and Protecting Health, Start Well, Live Well, Age Well, Improving Quality and Access - which are outlined below.

We understand that everyone’s experience with health and care is different, and that you will have particular service areas which you might be more keen to feedback on. At the bottom of this page, you can find our interactive forum section for each topic, where you can share your thoughts anonymously and have your say on as few or as many topics as you like.

You can find detail about our current ideas for each theme here, including our five-year ambitions and our delivery plans to ensure we succeed. Please do tell us what you think about our existing plans, and how we might improve.

How else can I share my thoughts?

You can also share your thoughts by:

  • Emailing, at engagement.bobics@nhs.net
  • Telephoning us on 0300 123 4465
  • Writing to us at Communications and Engagement Team Freepost BOB INTEGRATED CARE BOARD (Note: when using this Freepost address please ensure BOB INTEGRATED CARE BOARD is written in capital letters)

Thank you for sharing your invaluable feedback with us. Please let us have your feedback by Monday 8 May.

Finally, a message from Steve McManus, BOB ICB chief executive, on our ambitions for the Joint Forward Plan.
