What role does the ICB safeguarding team play?

The Integrated Care Board (ICB) safeguarding team plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of children in care and those preparing to leave care. Working closely with local authorities, social workers, and healthcare providers, the team ensures that safeguarding standards are upheld and that these vulnerable children receive timely, appropriate, and trauma-informed healthcare. By promoting continuity of care and advocating for each child’s unique needs, the ICB Safeguarding Team helps bridge the gap between care services and health systems—ensuring that no child is left behind during their transition to independence.
